The Brief:

Maurice Kimball (Skip), art director, concept artist, and character designer extraordinaire turned to me to design his autobiography. Vita Mortuis is a poetic story that follows the encounters of a haunted soul through four seasons of their life.
The typography and layout should embody the essence of the dark illustration and writing style, drawing the audience into Skip’s mysterious and captivating world.

This book is an autobiography written from the perspective of my life in dark dreams. I hope you find it entertainingly spooky.

Throughout my life, I have always had an imaginative drive to tell quirky stories with a heartfelt twist. This has led me to work as a creative leader within the entertainment industry of TV animation, theme parks, and video games.

The foundation of any successful entertainment story is visual development and art direction. I feel blessed to be able to contribute these qualities to some of the world’s most successful properties for audiences.
